V-Graphene Phoenix uses a heat-activated self-repairing graphene layer — the reflow layer softens under heat (direct sun or a warm-water rinse) and surface tension smooths out fine swirl marks and light marring on its own. Application is the same core process as our other graphene tier; the self-healing behaviour is passive and needs no action from you once it's cured.

What you'll need

1× V-Graphene Phoenix bottle Suede/microfibre applicator Clean microfibre towels (2+) Isopropyl alcohol panel wipe Nitrile gloves Shaded/indoor workspace

Surface preparation

  1. WashA full two-bucket wash with a pH-neutral shampoo to remove loose dirt and grime.
  2. DecontaminateRun a clay bar (or clay towel) over the paint to lift embedded contaminants a wash alone won't remove.
  3. Dry completelyUse a clean microfibre or air blower — the surface must be fully dry with zero water residue before applying.
  4. Panel wipeWipe each panel with isopropyl alcohol solution to strip any oils, wax or polish residue so the coating bonds to bare clear coat.

Application steps

  1. Work in the shadeAvoid direct sun and keep the panel surface cool to the touch — heat causes the coating to flash too fast for even levelling.
  2. Apply thin coatsPut 3–4 drops on the applicator suede and spread in a cross-hatch pattern (horizontal then vertical) over roughly a 2×2 ft section.
  3. Level before it flashesWithin 60–90 seconds, wipe the panel with a clean microfibre to remove any high spots or excess — this is the step that prevents visible streaking.
  4. Repeat panel by panelMove section by section across the whole car, working one panel at a time so you never let it flash before levelling.
  5. Second coat (optional)For maximum durability, apply a second thin coat 30–60 minutes after the first, once it's tack-free.

Cure time

Tack-free in 1–2 hours. Keep the car dry and under cover for at least 24 hours. Avoid washing for 7 days — that's the full chemical cross-linking window where the coating reaches its rated 10H+ hardness.

Maintenance schedule

Weekly

Rinse or a quick pH-neutral wash to clear dust before it bonds — especially important in dusty city traffic.

Monthly

A proper two-bucket wash with a ceramic-safe shampoo; check that water is still beading tightly.

Monsoon season

Rinse off promptly after driving through standing water to prevent mineral/water-spot buildup while beading is still active.

Every 12–18 months

Consider a ceramic booster/top-up spray to refresh hydrophobic performance mid-warranty.

Self-heal assist

If you notice light swirl marks, a warm-water rinse (or 20–30 minutes in direct sun) helps the reflow layer smooth them out faster than ambient conditions alone.

Do's and don'ts

Do

  • Apply in shade, 15–30°C ambient
  • Use thin, even coats
  • Let it cure a full 7 days before washing
  • Use pH-neutral, ceramic-safe shampoo going forward

Don't

  • Apply in direct sun or on a hot panel
  • Use wax or sealant on top — it's unnecessary and can interfere with beading
  • Run it through an automatic/brush car wash
  • Wash within the first 7 days

Troubleshooting

A scratch didn't heal itself

The self-repair layer smooths fine swirls and light marring — it doesn't fill damage that's gone through the clear coat into the base colour. Deeper marks need normal paint correction, same as any coating.

I see streaking or high spots after it cured

Usually means it wasn't levelled before flashing. Lightly buff the affected area with a fresh microfibre and a ceramic-safe spray detailer; if it persists, a light machine polish will remove it and you can recoat that panel.

Water isn't beading anymore

Normal wear over the warranty period, or the surface may have picked up a film of contamination. Try a thorough decontamination wash first — if beading doesn't return, it may be time for a top-up.

The coating looks patchy or hazy

Typically excess product that wasn't fully levelled. Buff with a clean microfibre and isopropyl alcohol solution to remove the haze.

Warranty

V-Graphene Phoenix carries a 3-year warranty against premature coating failure under normal use and the maintenance guidance above. To register your warranty or make a claim, contact us with your purchase details and product code (VC-GRSH-004).

Safety & storage

Contains solvents — use in a ventilated space, avoid skin/eye contact (wear nitrile gloves), and keep away from children and open flame. Store the bottle upright, tightly capped, away from direct heat and sunlight. Once opened, best used within the timeframe noted on the bottle label.
